After graduating from UNSW Art & Design in 2013, Milly Dent launched her own studio – Milly Dent Design – one year later. A daring move and one that’s paid off.

Milly’s ceramics have attracted the interest of and an informed and devoted following. She’s interested in beauty and functionality and has found clay to be a superb material allowing her to achieve both. Her technique is unusual - and this has ensured a distinctive appeal.

You may have viewed images of her pieces featured in the pages of design and style publications such as Vogue, Real Living, the Sydney Morning Herald Good Weekend Magazine, frankie, or Home Design, just to name a few.

Milly's signature style begins with a handmade porcelain vessel base, to which she applies a white-matt exterior glaze and a marbled indigo internal swirl. While there are variations to this theme – as well as differing sizes, shapes, and purposes – every object is decidedly Milly Dent in look and feel.

Milly's most recent collaboration has been with the National Gallery of Victoria for which she's created a product series inspired by the work of the great French artist Edgar Degas.
