Tania Rollond
It was almost by chance that UNSW Art & Design ²µ°ù²¹»å³Ü²¹³Ù±ðÌý discovered a passion for working with clay. She’d completed a bachelor degree in design in Perth and happened to take a class in ceramics where she found a new medium for creative expression and never looked back. Tania moved to Sydney to study ceramics and drawing, and her clay-based objects demonstrate an understanding and usage of both. She creates simple smooth geometric forms with clay and visually references each vessel’s essential structure in the pattern-work applied to the surface.
Several years ago, Tania set up her own ceramics studio in the Blue Mountains. Her award-winning ceramics are widely collected and she tends to exhibit several times each year. In 2016, she exhibited Clay Intersections at the Australian Design Centre in Sydney, and in 2017 she exhibited New Songs presented by Skepsi Gallery in Melbourne.Â
