Artist statement

“Ascension” is created using oil paint on a unstretched canvas, mixed with turpentine and bleach, diluted paint is poured directly onto the surface to achieved stain forms. The audio track is made using sampling from instrumental recording and modular synthesizer. The work prioritises translate of colour and sound in considerations on the experience of the world and moments of life, the relationship between colour and sound and the concept of synaesthesia. The shift between senses explored the paint material as technology transforming the painting process to non-material form. The work encourage audience to activates sense of hearing, respond to the sound.
