Artist statement

Mark Beat is a large scaled work that is a reference to music scores shown through random and gestural marks. Listening to music, responding to beats through speed, movement and drumming allows the artists hand to have the freedom into the unknown through the process. Using layering as a technique as well as using a tracer projector, to project line work images as a starting point and a guide to create the mark. Materials used such as acrylic, pen, pencil and markers.
