Artist statement

The Bunyip is an installation body of works, that have been added and edited into 3 video instalments. They are a series of digital illustrations created in Procreate, using an iPad. My body of works tells a tragic story about a First Nations Australian woman named Molly Birkins, who was also a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. She was brutally attacked by a group of men in the 1970s. After her death, she transforms into a powerful Bunyip and seeks revenge for her devastating death.
