Artist statement

This work explores the parallels between human and animal communication methods. Sound and text accompany a familiar scene; dogs playing at a park. Movements are analysed and stripped down to bleeding saturated colours, mirroring fleeting impressions. Flawed speech patterns and grammatical mistakes are observed and dissected through sound and text components. Domestic, simple phrases and repetition are in tension with academic language, mirroring the intertwined relationship I have with my mother tongue and second language.
