Artist statement

‘No One Wins’ explores performative self-portraits to examine identity, the female body, and aging. Through figurative drawings, I investigate visibility and self perception, focusing on the internal dialogues and self comparisons that arise when confronting our younger selves. My aim is to expand on practice-based research into how self-portraits reveal nuances of self and female body politics. My work critiques the internal monologue of aging and self-comparison, addressing the loss of identity and the struggle to reclaim it.
