Microcredentials
Accredited, short term study to elevate your career
Flexible, achievable study designed for busy professionals
Microcredential courses are designed for people who want to engage in higher education but can't commit to a degree program. Studying a microcredential allows you toÌýprogress your career development, uplift your capabilities, or explore new areas of learning in short, manageable pieces.
While a microcredential includes a short course, they are distinctly different in that they also offer a method of accreditation through an additional compulsory assessment.Ìý On completion of a microcredential, you will receive aÌýdigital badge for an accredited course, and also qualify for 2 units of credit (UoC), which can be used to access postgraduate articulation pathways.
Accredited courses delivered differently
Microcredentials are delivered in short, manageable pieces that are easy to fit into your busy life. All include a short course or workshop component that is delivered face-to-face, online, or a combination of the two. Many microcredentials also include other types of learning, such as online self-paced and workplace reflections.
All ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ microcredentials include several key features:
- a total of 50 hours of learning
- a compulsory assessmentÌý
- learning content and outcomes that are developed to the AQF9 (masters degree level) standard.
We currently offer microcredentials in:
- Evaluation and Performance ManagementÌý
- High Performance through Systems ThinkingÌý
- Procurement and Supplier Management
- Fundamentals of Mission Engineering
Enrolling to study a microcredential is easy. Simply register for the associated short course and on successful completion, you will be given the opportunity to continue studying to achieve a microcredential. Progress to a microcredential is subject to an additional fee.Ìý

Your pathway to further study
Microcredential courses can provide you with a pathway into a UNSW graduate certificate or masters program.
On the successful completion of three microcredentials, you can 'stack' the units of credit gained together for a combined 6 units of credit, and gain entry to and advanced standing in one of our postgraduate (PG) programs.
