Workshops will run throughout the year and the module is accessible at any time via Moodle.

  • All Inclusion@UNSW trainings support learning outcomes that enable participants to understand their role in building an inclusive culture at UNSW and feel supported to do so. They will develop participants capacity to adjust behaviours (such as practical guidance on inclusive language) and to have critical conversations (such as practical conversations that challenge harmful stereotypes).

The Cultural Inclusion@UNSW module provides a foundational basis of knowledge on concepts and key terms critical to cultural inclusion, including intersectionality, codeswitching, and unconscious bias. The workshop is designed to encourage staff to understand their own cultural perspectives as the basis for effective interactions with all members of the UNSW community.

    Learning outcomes include:

    • Understanding of how diverse cultural experiences influence interactions within the UNSW community.
    • All in-person training sessions will be held in wheelchair and lift accessible CATS rooms at UNSW Sydney Kensington campus (if not otherwise specified).
    • Facilitators and panellists will speak using lapel or wireless hand-held microphones.
    • Online training will have closed captioning enabled and transcripts can be provided upon request.
    • PowerPoint slides can be provided in advance of the training upon request.
