Teneale is a Yuin woman who grew up on the lands of the Dharawal people and currently lives on Birpai Country.

Teneale has worked in Indigenous health policy, services and academia for the last ten years. Teneale has a passion for teaching and lecturers in both Indigenous Health, Medical Education and Medical Anthropology.

Teneale is also a published poet and uses poetry to balance her academic work.

Teneale is a PhD candidate with UNSW (Sydney) in the field of Alcohol and Drug Research. She is currently researching best practice models in youth Aboriginal AOD treatment and how this could be adapted to mainstream AOD facilities for the benefit of both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous youth.
