Spring “Grease” Production Opens May 5
by on Apr 27, 2023GILROY, CA – After several months of intense and fun rehearsals, Gav’s Spring production of “Grease,” opens on Friday, May 5 at 8 pm, at the Ƶ Theater in Gilroy. Audiences can also enjoy 8 pm performances on these dates: May 6, May 12, May 13, May19, and May 20, with a 2 pm performance taking place on May 20.
This spring production is a collaboration between Ƶ and Christopher High School.
Gavilan’s Theater Department Chair, Dr. John Lawton Haehl shared:
“Our production of Grease is a collaboration between Ƶ and Christopher High School, with 16 dual-enrollment students from CHS. This nostalgic rock musical features such time-less songs as 'Summer Nights,' 'We Go Together,' 'Greased Lightning,' 'Beauty School Drop-out,' and 'Hand Jive.' Experience the musical that started the whole Grease phenomenon!”
Gavilan Superintendent/President added:
“Productions like Grease is the way our college brings families, and our diverse communities on our beautiful campus. Our art events truly put the word 'community' back into the mission of our college. Our art programs are strong and alive at Gav!”
