Elevate – Boosting women in STEM


Applications are open for the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering's  for students commencing in 2025. Elevate scholarships are provided to women and non-binary people studying postgraduate STEM research degrees.

  • Only open for domestic applicants – not current candidates
  • $130,224 over 3.5 years

National Industry PhD Program (N.I. PhD) – Round 4 – Expressions of Interest due 17 June 2024


°Õ³ó±ðÌý, funded through the Department of Education, is designed to facilitate industry focused PhD projects to allow better translation of university research into commercialisation outcomes.

The program funds two types of PhD

  • Industry Linked – provides a ~$7000 annual top up to a main award (RTP equivalent) where there is an end-user contribution of $10,000 pa 
  • Industry Researcher – provides a ~$40,000 pa subsidy to employers that support their staff to conduct a PhD

Academic staff interested in applying should submit a draft application by 17 June 2024 to allow time for proposal development and compliance checking ahead of 1 July 2024 application opening date.

2024 CSIRO iPhD Round 2


The CSIRO Industry PhD program aims to increase research-industry workforce mobility and build research talent. Through the CSIRO Industry PhD program, students undertake a research project developed in collaboration with, and jointly supervised by, an industry partner, a university researcher, and a CSIRO researcher. 

HDR Candidates receive a stipend of $47,020 p.a (2025 rate) – the industry partner needs to contribute $12,000 p.a., while the Govt contributes $35,020 p.a.  The scheme is only open to Domestic HDRs.

Round 2 expressions of interest are open until 23 August 2024 for projects to commence in 2025.

Under CSIRO iPhD Program rules industry partners can include not-for-profits and government-owned entities where they can demonstrate alignment with program objectives. For further information, please see the ,Ìý or visit .
