Decades of international and national advocacy by students have brought recognition that sexual harassment and sexual assault are common experiences for university students. The release of the 2017 Australian Human Rights Commission Report Change the Course, provided an empirical basis for more targeted, ongoing activities, directed at addressing and preventing sexual assault and sexual harassment at UNSW.

    The 2023 Gendered Violence Prevention and Response Annual Report provides a compressive overview of efforts and outcomes in creating a safe and respectful campus environment, including the number of reports made to the gendered violence portal.

    In its mission to ensure that respect and integrity underpin the pursuit of knowledge at UNSW, the Conduct and Integrity Office in the Division of Planning and Assurance has published its third annual report on gendered violence prevention and response at UNSW.

    The 2022 Report includes background to UNSW's efforts to prevent and respond to gendered violence, the University's prevention strategy, reporting numbers from the gendered violence reporting portal, support services, key achievements, and priorities for future improvements.
