The Centre for Advanced Defence Research and Enterprise – Operating in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Environments (CADRE-OCE) is a new, nationally coordinated initiative. Its purpose is to develop novel innovative technologies that counter existing, new and emerging chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats and may have dual-use applications. In addition, the Centre will foster collaborations with trusted partners.

UNSW is a founding university partner of CADRE-OCE, hosted by the University of Melbourne. The other founding university partners are the University of Adelaide and Queensland University of Technology. The Centre is funded by the Australian Department of Defence and works with a vast and growing network of academic and industry capability partners to deliver on it's core objectives.
