Brooke Marshall is a tenured SeniorÌýLecturer at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. She teaches in the areas of private international law (conflict of laws), contract law, comparative law, and public international law. Her main field of research is in the private international law of the United Kingdom andÌýEuropean Union. She previously worked in Hamburg as a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law.ÌýBrooke speaks French and German.


Outside academia, Brooke has practised as a litigation lawyer at Allens Linklaters, Brisbane, and worked at the Dutch intergovernmental organization, the Hague Conference on Private International Law.


She is a laureate of The Hague Academy of International Law Diploma (2016), and of the ICC Institute of World Business Law Prize (2021) for her doctoral thesis on the topic of asymmetric jurisdiction clauses.
