School of Biotech & Biomolecular Science

I am an education focussed lecturer within the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences teaching undergraduate courses across the disciplines of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and more. With my experience in educational design and technical support, I am interested in the redesign of our practical teaching practice through the integration of electronic laboratory notebooks into undergraduate courses to promote good documentation practice in our Science graduates.

Evaluation of the impact of the use of the electronic laboratory notebook on the student's learning experience and their career skills development

The aim of this project is to

1) evaluate the impact of the integration of electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) on the undergraduate students’ practical learning experience,

2) identify the impact of the use of ELN on the general research practices of the postgraduate students,

3) discover the role of ELN as a tool to enhance graduate capabilities (collaboration and communication) to develop global citizens of the scientific communities.
