Professional and Teaching Experience
Dr James Warn is an experienced researcher, academic and consultant. His current research, involving international collaboration with the Centre for Studies in Leadership at the University of Guelph, is investigating culture and leadership capability in complex situations. In another collaborative project he is working with a team of researchers to investigate road safety culture in the community and he is exploring the role of community leadership in cultural change.In conducting his research and consultancy, he utilises his extensive academic background to develop a strategic orientation whilst drawing on his extensive organisational psychology experience to maintain a practical focus. He is an accredited facilitator in leadership development tools and the use of psychological testing for organisations.
Dr James Warn teaches in the areas of leadership and organisational behaviour. He is committed to the value of lifelong learning and instils this ethos into his teaching practices. James' teaching performance has been recognised with the UNSW@Ƶ Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr Warn is a registered psychologist, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and former Chair of the ACT Section of the APS College of Organisational Psychologists. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Visiting fellow at the Centre for Defence Leadership (Australian Defence College).
