Dr Juan Pablo Escobedo-Diaz
BIO
J. Pablo Escobedo-Diaz is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT) at Ƶ. He obtained his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering at Washington State University. Prior to taking up this academic appointment he held research positions at the Institute for Shock Physics (Washington State University) and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
His main research interests centre on the dynamic behaviour of materials under extreme conditions, in particular high pressure and high strain rate. His focus has been on investigating the effects of microstructural features on the dynamic fracture behaviour ofmetals and metallic alloys. He has published primarily in the fields of Shock Physics andMaterials Science; his most recent publications can be found by clicking the link below.
He is a member of The Metals, Minerals and Materials Society (TMS), the American Physical Society (APS), the Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM) and the Materials Research Society (MRS). He has served as a regular reviewer of a number of journals including the Journal of Applied Physics, Metallurgical and Materials Transactions, the Intertnational Journal of Solids and Structures, Materials Characterization, among others.
PhD Projects available focused on mechanical behavior of materials (Experimental and Modelling). Please contact me for details.
