Computational Fluid Dynamics
Natural convection. Solidification and melting processes for binary alloys under earth gravity and space microgravity conditions. Interface tracking in three dimensions on a fixed grid. Natural convection in open-ended channels for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications.
Heat Transfer
The enhancement of heat transfer in micro-channels for integrated circuit cooling using a micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) synthetic jet actuators. Numerical and experimental study of heat transfer enhancement in dimpled surface heat exchangers. Energy and water efficiency in manufacturing.
Hyperthermia and Nanoparticle Transport for biomedical applications (cancer treatment, drug delivery)
Laser hyperthermia of tumors with embedded gold nanoshells. Simulation of blood flow and nanoparticle transport.
