Mr William (Joseph) Nicholls

Lecturer
Law & Justice
School of Private & Commercial Law

I completed a 'late life' (in my 40s) law degree at UNSW in 2012 and graduated with fist class honours. From 2014 I was a teaching fellow at the Faculty of Law teaching Resolving Civil Disputes and Torts. In late 2020 I started worked as a lawyer in a personal injury firm for just over 2 years. At the start of 2023 I commenced a full-time position as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Justice. My life before the law involved complex negotiations with a range of suppliers and clients in the film and advertising industries. Whilst at Law School I completed three electives in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) including the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition held in Paris where I was a grand finalist. After graduating I founded a Mediation/Dispute Resolution Company which represented high profile mediators. I remain a committed advocate of ADR and will be co-teaching ADR in Practice with Dr Rosemary Howell and will be teaching Mediation in Practice and the core courses - Torts and Resolving Civil Disputes.
