Entry includes academic and English language requirements

There are different entry requirements to consider depending on what you want to study. Entry requirements range from prior study to your final high school exam scores, ensuring you’re equipped to succeed in your chosen degree.

Academic entry requirements

  • Before applying for a degree, you should first check that we recognise your secondary/tertiary education qualification. This can include:

    1. Secondary education qualifications
    2. Higher education study
    3. Diploma and other post-secondary studies
    4. Foundation studies

Visit our Accepted Qualifications page for detailed information on what qualifications we accept.

    Postgraduate study

For postgraduate study, you generally need to have completed an undergraduate degree at university level. Check the entry requirements tab of your chosen degree for detailed information.

  • You will need to meet academic entry scores for your chosen UNSW degree. International direct entry scores are listed on each degree page.

English language requirements

Provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements.

Submit results from an accepted English language test taken in the last two years prior to starting at UNSW. Read more on our English language requirements page.
