KRI has strategic networks with government departments and institutions in Korea, Australia and Southeast Asia through receiving research grants and support for Korean Studies-related activities, joint organisation of policy workshops, conducting collaborative research and facilitating public diplomacy in Austrasia and Southeast Asia. There are more than 25 government, academic and non-government institutions across eight Southeast Asian countries that are proactively engaged with KRI.

Korea

In Korea, KRI@UNSW works with the Academy of Korean Studies, the Korea Foundation and the Korea Development Institute.

  • The Academy of Korean Studies was founded with the objects of "studying the essence of Korean culture for establishing the base for new creation with independent historical views and a sound sense of values, seeking the basic principles of future Korea to raise and restore the spirit of the Korean people, and creating and developing Korean culture."

  • The Korea Foundation's mission is to promote better understanding of Korea in the international community and to increase friendship and goodwill between Korea and the world through exchange programs.

  • Since its establishment in 1971, Korea Development Institute has been recognised as Korea's leading think tank, significantly contributing to Korea's economic and social development.
