Welcome to the School of Health Sciences

Our School is embarking on a very ambitious mission: “to contribute to the betterment of Society and the lives of individuals’ lives through excellence in teaching, research and direct engagement in health care practices”.

To support this mission, our School is rapidly expanding to service our education agenda based on our four ground-breaking health professional education programs. These programs will see the scope of our teaching effort broaden significantly and shape the future Health workforce in Australia and beyond.

Our education and research agendas coalesce to ensure our programs provide outstanding preparation for practice across a spectrum of settings from benchtop to bedside and across public health environments. Engaging with our community to ensure their expertise in understanding their own needs is utilised, to graduate responsive practitioners who understand team-based care whether individual or population based.

These programs will see the scope of our teaching effort broaden significantly and shape the future Health workforce in Australia.

Our research programs play an integral role with achieving our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of our community and our nation. Our solid collaborative network across the Faculty of Medicine and Health, our direct alignment with the Faculty Research Themes and our close engagement with our local community through our Lifestyle Clinic or the upcoming Health Translation Hub will place our School in an ideal position to positively and meaningful improve health care for our community and nation for generations to come.
