We want all staff and students in our labs to stay safe. It is important to take 2-minutes before you commence a task to assess the hazards and risks.

Laboratory hazards:

  • bad housekeeping
  • unlabelled Chemicals
  • spills.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Laboratory Clothing (may include long-sleeved laboratory coats, wrap around gowns, disposable gowns and boiler suits).
  • Protective eyewear.
  • Gloves.
  • Closed shoes.
  • Hearing protection.
  • Additional or specialised PPE e.g., respirators.
