About this webinar:

Young people in rural Australia are more likely than urban young people to experience substance use harms. These harms are compounded by limited access to effective healthcare services. This seminar discusses the work undertaken inÌýDr Nicole Snowdon's thesis on determining the best-evidenced interventions and how rural healthcare services can optimise the delivery of psycho-social interventions to reduce problematic substance use among young people.

About the speaker:

With a unique blend of clinical and research experience, Dr Snowdon is a qualified social worker (AASW qualified) and experienced qualitative researcher, who is passionate about translational research in mental health and substance use health services. As a post-doctorate researcher at Charles Sturt University, Dr. Snowdon is currently working on three key projects:

1. Integrating the Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training into the rural Australian service-delivery context.
2. Implementing nature walking groups in rural mental health services as a transdiagnostic approach to promote recovery.
3. Translating cognitive remediation therapy into mental health practice.
