STEM Career Launchpad FAQs

  • UNSW students studying an undergraduate science degree. This could be a single degree (3970 Bachelor of Science, for example), or a dual degree (3947 Science/Arts, for example).

    You can be at any stage of your degree – from first year to final year! We encourage students to start the program as early as possible in your degree to get the most out of it.

  • You can complete the program at your own pace, and we recommended that you complete the program alongside your academic studies over the span of your entire undergraduate degree.  

    While the pace can be different for every student, we expect the program to take at least one academic year to complete at a very high pace. Although science students from all stages are welcome to register, please keep this timeframe in mind if you are near the end of your degree and wish to complete the STEM Career Launchpad program. You can still register and access the program resources and activities; however, may not be able to complete the program by your final term.

  • There is no application process – eligible students just need to register. You will then receive login details for the STEM Career Launchpad Moodle site where you can begin the program.


  • No. This is a co-curricular program that can be done alongside your academic studies.

    This program is , however. The Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) is a secondary transcript issued to students when they graduate, that provides a snapshot of their graduate achievements. It aims to enhance graduate mobility and employability in the global marketplace. This program (STEM Career Launchpad) will appear on your AHEGS statement.

  • No. The awards and badges you receive are internal to UNSW and are designed help you to track your progress throughout the program.

  • Upon registering, eligible students will receive login details to the STEM Career Launchpad Moodle site. This is where you can start the program, keep track of your progress, and collect your STEM Career Launchpad badges and awards. There is an orientation activity and further details in the Moodle site to help you get started!

  • That’s totally fine! Registering for the program does not commit you to completing the program. You can do as little or as much as you wish.

  • No. This program is free for UNSW Science students.

    While there may be some career development activity options within the program may require a fee, such activities are optional.  Â
