Biomedical Education in the School of Biomedical Sciences brings together a community of experts with a passion for higher education, innovation, scholarship in learning and teaching (SoTL) and research into pedagogy within and beyond their discipline.

In recent years, the university classroom has transformed, not least in response to the pandemic and a global community of learners moving online. The Biomedical Educational Research and Development group is focused on state-of-the art design, development, delivery and evaluation of education practice and pedagogy.

Our research focusses on the use of novel digital technologies to enhance student engagement, motivation and success. This includes the development and evaluation of interactive online modules, digital tools for learning and assessment and immersive virtual environments.
