Bio

Ximena Camacho is a PhD candidate and Research Manager (Analytics) with the Medicines Intelligence Unit within the School of Population Health, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW. Her thesis is on leveraging big data to assess medicines safety in Australia. Prior to commencing her PhD, Ximena held a variety of analytic and leadership roles in Australia and Canada and developed strong programming and analytic skills over more than a decade working with linked administrative data. She has trained and mentored teams of analysts on the approaches for managing, manipulating and analysing large linked datasets.

Ximena has extensive experience using linked population health data to generate policy-relevant evidence and has worked across a variety of fields including cancer, cardiovascular, ageing and pharmacoepidemiology. She collaborates regularly with clinical, government and academic partners and has both local and international networks.
