About us
Health economics makes it possible for decision-makers in the health sector to compare the costs and benefits of their actions and identify the most efficient and effective ways of using available resources to improve health outcomes.
We undertake a variety of methodological and applied health economics research to inform policy and resource allocation decisions in Australia and overseas. These include econometrics analysis and machine learning, economic evaluation (cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and cost-utility analysis), measurement of efficiency and equity in health services, and health systems financing.
We do short-term consultancies and build health economics capacity through the SPH masters program specialisation in health economics.
