Find out how to safely and sustainably dispose of old hardware, such as desktop computers, laptops, monitors and other equipment.

UNSW IT and Estate Management waste department have been working collaboratively to action the eWaste disposal requests we get from UNSW staff through Archibus.

TES will erase and destroy all UNSW data from the machines including the confidential and personal information and will ensure it is unrecoverable and irretrievable in any form and by anyone.

General items that get picked up from UNSW include desktop computers, laptops, monitors/screens, printers (large MFDs & small printers), computer accessories such as a mouse or keyboard, server racks & equipment, AV accessories & other hardware.

Dispose of eWaste

  1. Staff can log a Archibus request on  to have the items pickup up by EM.
  2. Please see the administrative officer in your area if you do not have Archibus site access.
  3. Please provide as much detail as possible in the description of your request, eg: type of items, volume and quantity.  If insufficient information is provided to estimate costs and schedule resources, your request may be rejected.
  4. Provide all access requirements to (the building, level or room) required to complete the request.
  5. Provide details of any Work from Home (WFH) arrangements that may impact on completion of the service request.
