Telemonitoring is the use of information technology to monitor patients remotely, providing health care services without using hospital beds, and addressing the needs of an ageing population. Telemonitoring has been used to monitor chronic illnesses such as cardiopulmonary disease and heart failure as well as activity levels of elderly people using invasive sensors, wearable sensors and/or patient surveys. Our research includes the collection, interpretation and transmission of patient telemonitoring data and validation of clinical outcomes.
