Our Theme Collaborative Seed Grant Schemes provide Early and Mid-Career Researchers (EMCRs) at UNSW opportunities to lead innovative projects. Funded by UNSW Medicine & Health, our grants foster cross-disciplinary collaborations to produce high-quality research and clinical outcomes. Successful projects enhance competitiveness for external grant funding and serve as a pathway to more ambitious projects.

Grant rounds close

Thursday 10 October 2024, 5pm

Presentations (Health Systems Research and Triple I, and Cancer Themes only)

Monday, 11 November 2024 – Friday, 15 November 2024

Notification of award outcomes

No later than Thursday 19 November

Funded projects commence

January 2025


Project funding will be available from January 2025 and must be expended by December 2025. No extensions can be accommodated. Theme Seed Grant Schemes are open to UNSW-affiliated staff only. As the guidelines and funding amounts for each Theme differ, please review the below documents carefully. Themes will consider co-funding competitive projects that clearly demonstrate cross-Theme linkages. Applicants may apply to more than one Theme.

2025 Application Forms for all Themes will be released on 29 August 2024. 2024 Application Forms have been provided where possible for applicants’ reference.
