The broad objective of our various undergraduate programs is to develop well-educated graduates, that is, graduates with the strong technical knowledge and the basic skills and attributes required to practise as professional engineers and scientists. The desired skills are those that enable graduates to be independent investigators, self-motivated, critical thinkers, problem solvers, life-long learners, good communicators, team players, effective managers, as well as economically, environmentally and socially aware citizens.

Our overall aim is to create professional engineers and scientists who will be recognised as the best and most appropriately trained to contribute to the institutions and industries of Australia and the rest of the world.

We have a variety of degree programs that will suit students with a range of interests and, of course, our Engineering (Honours) programs are fully accredited by Engineers Australia. Such accreditation is based on an evidence-based evaluation process to determine if educational programs meet the EA Stage 1 Competency Standards for a Professional Engineer. Accreditation provides assurance that our engineering programs are suitably designed and delivered to prepare graduates for entry to professional practice in a specified field of engineering practice.
