The School of Mathematics and Statistics Computing Centre exists to aid the staff and students of the school to use the computing resources of the school to full potential. All staff, visitors and postgraduate students are provided with a desktop machine, predominantly Linux, with a significant minority of machines also running Windows.

The school has large computing facilities on campus. We have two student laboratories, containing a network of approximately 150 personal computers (PCs).

In addition, the school has an extensive collection of computing infrastructure which allows a wide variety of computing services to be provided to staff. Full details on the resources available to staff can be found on the High performance computing page or by contacting the Computing Centre.

Current staff should also see  on the staff intranet for more information on staff-related computing matters. (You will need to  in order to view the page.)

Both of the School's laboratories are open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday during the teaching semester, unless they are being used for other purposes (for example if they are booked for classes or being used or set up for computer based tests). The labs are not open on the weekends.
