Access the Student Fee Policy and Procedure and understand the university’s stance on providing fraudulent documents.

  • The Student Fee Policy and Student Fee Procedure specifies the principles for setting, calculating, charging and refunding student fees.

    These documents apply to:

    • All enrolled students of UNSW on all campuses both domestic and International
    • Students previously enrolled, not currently enrolled and students on program leave, where the relevant fee liability was incurred while they were enrolled or is directly related to their enrolment
    • Higher Degree Research Students including those awaiting examination of submitted theses
    • Students on exchange from other universities where the matter relates to the student’s experience at UNSW.
  • UNSW is committed to ensuring the integrity of our degrees and opposes any activities surrounding the creation of fraudulent documents or false representation of studies.

While privacy laws prevent us from discussing any individual student cases or investigations, we take all accusations of fraudulent documentation and false representation very seriously and review each case thoroughly.

If a student has been found to provide fraudulent documentation, their record will be suspended until the investigation is complete and an outcome is decided. We will not refund any tuition or deposit while the investigation is ongoing.

Possible consequences for providing fraudulent documentation include expulsion, refusal to allow admission and legal action.

Where a student has provided fraudulent documentation as part an admission application and is excluded as a result, they will not receive a refund unless they have paid fees in advance for a study period that has not commenced.
